Photography Artist Statement: Photography was my gateway into art. I experimented with photography in high school with a disposable camera and ultimately bought my first digital camera just prior to my first deployment in 2009. I focus on trying to capture details and moments that connect a viewer with the surroundings. My goal is always to create a memorable image that makes the viewer feel as though the image connects with them on a more personal level but simultaneously highlights unexpected perspectives. The main categories of my photography generally fall into the following - Americana, animals, architecture, and panoramas. Though some of my work is from outside the United States, many of my other images focus on the culture within America. I truly enjoy capturing images that evoke a feeling of “Americana” while also emphasizing beauty in the everyday. I have always been fond of photographing animals and people. When photographing animals, I try to do so through the perspective of shared human emotion—much of the architecture that I photograph attempts to emphasize the impressive pattern, design, and mathematics.

All of my artwork is original. I do not now and never have used Artificial Intelligence (AI) in any of my work. I do not use it and will not use it in any way - not to brainstorm, create, influence, sketch, or design any of my artworks, photography, or writing. All of my artwork is completely original.

Below is a sample of some of my photography work since 2010.
